ChicagoVPSChris, from ChicagoVPS, is back with three offers for the LowEndBox community, this time including a dedicated server! The OpenVZ VPS offers are all available in six locations across the USA, while the dedicated server is available  in Buffalo, New York. The dedicated server features the fairly new Intel Atom C2750 8-core CPU which supports up to 64GB of RAM and VT-x, making it a quite powerful CPU while using only 20W. I personally haven't heard how this CPU performs yet, so if you do give it a shot, let us know! ChicagoVPS is using host nodes with dual CPUs and Intel 520 SSDs for caching for their OpenVZ offers. Orders will be set up instantly, so you can get started right after ordering! Customers have been quite positive about ChicagoVPS recently. Vultr is the next provider in my series of surprise posts! Having come "to the scene" at LowEndBox and LowEndTalk only a couple of months ago, they have quickly gained popularity. They technically have been featured before in the 2014 Q1 Top Provider Poll, where they came in ninth, but I felt they needed to be in the spotlight just a tad more. Vultr has SSD-based cloud servers starting at $5/month in multiple locations across the globe. Last week they got stock back in their London location. In addition to that, they currently offer services out of New Jersey (NJ, USA), Dallas (TX, USA), Los Angeles (CA, USA), Atlanta (GA, USA), Chicago (IL, USA), Tokyo (Japan), and Sydney (Australia). If you think that's a long list, keep in mind that their Frankfurt (Germany) and Paris (France) are currently out of stock and will be available again in the future. Contrary to some other "cloud" providers, Vultr offers you the option to deploy any distribution you like by upload! ing your own ISO, which gives this service a real nice edge. Vultr uses modern hardware with latest generation Intel CPU and pure SSD drives. The bandwidth varies per location, but I see a Level3 and an nLayer logo on their website, so I think they are at least used heavily in the USA and Europe! If you give them a shot, or already have, please share your experiences with us!

As a limited time promotion, Vultr doubles all the payments you make up to $100! This is not a LowEndBox.com promotion as this is a surprise post!

While Frankfurt and Paris are listed as out of stock, you could get lucky by getting an instance there. I clicked on one of those locations to get notified and got a 'Pending' instance to see it being deployed about 15 minutes later. So, always worth a shot if you need something there.

Vultr accepts payments via Credit Cards and PayPal. Each instance comes with one IPv4 address, more IPv4 addresses are currently not available but may be in the future. IPv6 is also still under development. SMTP is blocked by default to prevent SPAM. To unblock SMTP you need to contact support and fill out an authorization form. For more information, read their FAQ. And as always, read their Terms of Service before ordering!

OpenITC – $20/year 256MB SSD OpenVZ, $4.25/month 512MB KVM, and more in Maidenhead, UK

openitcSean, from OpenITC, has sent in some new offers for LowEndBox readers! This time, he sent both OpenVZ and KVM offers. OpenITC have been in business for over 6 years and their company is a registered 'partnership' in the UK. They were featured many times before under their subsidiary "XenVZ" and later as OpenITC. XenVZ were first listed in 2008 and, we suspect, once offered the cheapest vps plan ever at the time. Users will use OpenITC's own custom coded control panel to manage their virtual servers as apposed to the popular SolusVM. KVM users can even use Spice with TLS rather than the relatively insecure VNC. Also, the KVM servers come with two IPv6 /64 subnets. All these servers run on a host node with dual hex core E5-2630s with a battery-backed RAID card and dual power supplies. The OpenVZ offers are hosted on SSD drives. Please leave any ! reviews or remarks in the comments!

With OpenITC's panel, you can install any Operating System you like via the recovery console (VNC or Spice with TLS) and you can virtually mount any CD/DVD from a HTTP server, basically allowing you to install any .iso (KVM only). You can also set the disk driver and the network model (KVM only). Whilst it fully supports both IPv4 and IPv6, at present only rDNS on IPv4 addresses can be instantly configured. Cgroups have been fully implemented, allowing OpenITC to control CPU and Disk I/O.

They accept both Paypal & Google Checkout as payment methods and have a 14 day refund policy. As well as allowing VPN and Adult content, IRC is also allowed but only on request. Legal content only.

Network Information

Their nodes are online at the RapidSwitch datacenter in Maidenhead, UK. They are a RIPE NCC member and thus their IP space is fully owned by themselves. From this simple search, they appear to have a lot of it. They have a 100% SLA with their upstream provider.
