ChicagoVPS has been around for a while; the domain was registered in 2010. They are know for they big bang-for-buck offers and were one of the first hosts to come with the 2GB for $7/month VPS. ChicagoVPS is using host nodes with dual CPUs and Intel 520 SSDs for their SSD-based OpenVZ offers. Orders will be set up instantly, so you can get started right after ordering! ChicagoVPS has recently sold 123Systems to VSNX (the owner of LowEndBox and LowEndTalk) in order to focus on ChicagoVPS and the customers merged from the ElectricByte acquisition. That may have been a good move, as customers have been critical of ChicagoVPS' support over the past month or so. Hopefully this renewed focus will do them good! If you sign up, or are already a customer, feel free to leave a review in the comments or at LowEndTalk.com.

ChicagoVPS accepts payments via major Credit Cards, by personal check, cashier's check, PayPal, electronic check, or money order. Their refunds policy states that "Refunds are subject to approval by ChicagoVPS on a case by case basis". ChicagoVPS guarantees a 99.9% uptime with all services. Free central backups, free automated weekly node backups and free DNS hosting are all included. For more information, take a look at their Terms of Service.

Jamie, from Jamie's Servers, has sent in an exclusive coupon ("LEB-TRKJC") for LowEndBox readers that gives you 30% off of their VPS offering.

Bronze
  • 512MB RAM
  • 50GB HDD space

  • £2.80/month ($4.40)

The domain for Jamie's Servers was registered in 2011 and the WHOIS information is public. They did not start trading up to January 2014, though. Company registration is something that will happen soon, according to Jamie. Servers are hosted on host node with Intel E5 CPUs, a minimum of 32GB of RAM, and 2x 2TB drives in a RAID configuration (it says RAID10 in the ticket but that's not possible with two drives). According to the ticket they leave 5GB of RAM and 5GB of disk space free on each server, which makes me conclude they do not oversell RAM or disk space. All servers come with OVH's free DDoS protection, 4 CPU cores, and access to SolusVM for management. If you give these guys a short or are already a customer, please share your experiences with us in the comments!

PayPal and Stripe are accepted payment methods. "TOR exit nodes, Kloxo, CamFrog, Virtual currency (*coin) mining, HentaiAtHome, IP spoofing, Fake/Replica product websites, World Community Grid, HYIP websites, Booter/Stresser, HitLeap or any artificial traffic creation, LIULIANGKUANG or any other illegal application, script or action(s)" are not allowed. Having a CPU load of over 0.9 for an extended period of time is not allowed either and may result in a reboot and/or suspension. There is a seven-day refund policy in place, but it is restricted to certain scenarios. Please read their full Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before putting in an order.

The offer

  • 512MB RAM
  • 2 vCPU
  • 40GB HDD space
  • 2TB traffic
  • 100Mbps uplink
  • 1x IPv4

According to their public WHOIS, CityNet Host has been around since 2008 and the owner is located in Egypt. They seem to be a registered company as well (CityNet Telecom S.A.E.), but my search for company information ended at the EgyptAir website. If someone can find the registration to confirm it, please let us know. They have been featured a lot by LowEndAdmin in 2010 and 2011, but that's a bit too long ago to draw some feedback from. This VPS is part of their standard offering but is definitely the one with the best value for money. I do not have much hardware or DC information. They have Live Chat available and two phone numbers for contact, so you should be covered. If you have experience with these guys or decide to give them a shot, please let us know in the comments!

You can pay for this server with PayPal, Credit Card, and 2Checkout. There's a 30-day refund policy in place for the first account and the first service only. For full details on this and others things, please read their Terms of Service.

Superior Networks is a UK-based sole trader and their domain has been around for over a year. The domain is WHOIS-protected, though, which should always make you think twice before putting in an order. I haven't received any details on the hardware these servers run on, but they do have a guaranteed 200Mbps uplink, which is DDoS protected as per OVH's standard offering. The connection can burst to 1Gbps and it is being shared per host node between all the servers on there. For anything other than these offers please use the coupon "LEB2014" for 35% off. If you give these guys a try, please share your experiences with us in the comments!

PayPal is currently the only available payment method. Refunds will only be given if there has been an actual problem with the service (like actual downtime), not to those that get cold feet after putting in an order. Anything related to Tor is not allowed and for full details I'd recommend you read their full Terms of Service.

According to Jonathan, RaptorNode's main goal is to provide their customers "with the highest level of service and support", backed by a "team of professionals with over 10 years of experience in the industry". RaptorNode has been in business well over a year now. They own all their servers, network equipment, and, according to Jonathan, even their racks. They also offers 24/7 support. While the name is sort of special, they have been in business for well over two years now. We featured them twice before and since last time they have added Los Angeles as a location. Tragic Servers is a legally registered company in Binghamton, NY, USA and has been doing game server hosting since May 2012. They have been doing unmanaged VPS hosting since October of that year. These offers are either hosted with Limestone Networks in Dallas, TX, and come with basic DDoS protection (handled by Limestone Networks), or with QuadraNet in Los Angeles, CA. If you give Tragic Servers a try, please share your experiences with us. The same goes for existing customers. Enjoy these offers!

Tragic Servers accepts payments via Paypal and credit cards through Stripe. They have a 24-hour refund policy but exceptions could be made on a case-by-case basis. As usual, please read their Terms of Service before you order!

Ryan initially wanted to join Anthony in LowEndSpirit, he writes, but after talking it through he started NanoVZ and MegaVZ on his own with some advice from Anthony. He runs NGINX as a proxy for the NAT'd IP addresses because of his experience with NGINX. Support is limited with these machines, but Ryan says he's going to be on top of it. A second IPv6 subnet can be added on request. The host nodes for these machines vary per location, for details please see inside. Lenoir and Dusseldorf seem to have RAID1 or better, Los Angeles does not seem to have RAID but it does have SSD-caching. I'm really looking forward to read reviews about MegaVZ because more and more of these kind of services pop up. Please feel free to share your reviews in the comments!

A former OVH employee, Giner left them in 2011 and started GinerNet (a registered company in Spain) in 2012. He became a RIPE member around that time as well. After having launched services in Alicante, he eventually had to migrate everything to Barcelona because of the number of DDoS attacks he was receiving. He later expanded to Madrid and a new Alicante location. Host nodes have Intel Xeon X5670 CPUs, Intel 520 or Crucial M550 SSD drives in a RAID configuration backed up by a battery. OVH servers are being used for backups in France or Canada, as well as for DDoS protection should you choose that option. Reviews about GinerNet have been mainly positive. Should you try them out or be a customer of them, please share your experiences with us. From my experience they are quite good!

All servers come with backups included, where there's two snapshots from SolusVM available. Automated remote backups are included as well. Don't see this as an excuse not to make your own backups, but rather than an insurance that GinerNet may be able to do some quick disaster recovery should that ever be necessary. PayPal, credit cards, and Transferencia are accepted payment methods. DDoS-protected IPs seem to be available but they are quite expensive. Before ordering, please read their Terms of Service.

In Dallas, Orlando, and London you can add 5 IPv6 addresses for free while ordering! As an extra bonus exclusively for LEB, anyone who orders can claim a free upgrade from a 100Mbps port to 1Gbps! After completing the order, open a ticket and they will have the upgrade to 1Gbps completed within ~30 minutes. They utilize dual Intel Xeon E5-2620processors with 128GB of RAM and hard drives in hardware RAID10. Reviews have been consistently very good in the past, though in the comments of the last offer I've found some people who were having issues, so you may want to read up on how WeLoveServers responded to those. As always, you are welcome to share your experience with them in the comments.

WeLoveServers accepts payments via Paypal. Refunds are offered on a case by case basis. TUN/TAP and PPTP modules are supported. Additional IPv4 Addresses are $1.60 each. WeLoveServers offers complimentary DNS hosting management to all VPS customers. Servers will be setup instantly. VPN Servers, adult content and IRC are allowed.
