Kazila is a registered LLC in the state of Texas and has been in business since 2008. We've featured them plenty of times before. Compared to their last offers, these offers come with double the RAM, double the SSD space, and double the bandwidth! And all of that for the same price as the old offers. That's a pretty good deal if you ask me. Kazila uses RAID1 on the SSD nodes, hosts them with zColo, and buys their transfer from Incero. There wasn't too many feedback on their last offer, but from the bits and pieces I've been able to find reviews are usually positive. Please let us know if you give them a shot!

You can pay for these servers using PayPal or credit card. There is a 3-day money back guarantee for virtual servers; please contact them in case you're not satisfied. For all the details on this and other things, please read their Terms of Service.

Defined Code Ltd is a registered company in the UK; they have been registered since August 2014. Last time we've offered them there were still limits on the bandwidth, but they've now taken those away for these small machines. I think this is one of the cheapest unmetered VPS I've ever seen and I really think these are interesting offers. There's a dedicated IPv4 NAT  port for SSH and you get 20 additional IPv4 NAT ports, in addition to IPv6 connectivity. These offers come with OVH's DDoS protection by default. Although there weren't any reviews on their last offer, they were applauded for it and received lots of questions. Please do share your experiences with us if you give these guys a shot!

Stripe (including PayPal and credit cards) and Bitpay are accepted for payments. Short ToS: TOR, torrents, crypto-currency mining, minecraft, public proxies and public VPN software are all prohibited. IRC daemons are prohibited but private IRC bots and bouncers are allowed. As always, please read their full Terms of Service before putting in an order.

VPSGet – $5.95/month or $30.47/year unmetered 512MB OVZ in the Netherlands

Tags: exclusive, openvz, the netherlands, vpsget.com Date/Time: January 21, 2015 @ 1:00 pm, by Maarten Kossen

Andrii, from VPSGet, has sent in this exclusive offer for LowEndBox readers. This offer is located in the Netherlands.

The offer

  • 512MB RAM
  • 1 CPU core
  • 20GB SAS disk space
  • Unmetered transfer
  • 100Mbps uplink
  • 1x IPv4
  • 10x IPv6
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM
  • Coupon: LowEndBox2015
  • $5.95/month
  • $30.47/year
  • Order here

Please note there are always limits beyond those displayed in the case of unmetered transfer.

VPSGet is part of NDI Solutions Limited, a registered company in the UK. They have been registered since 2012 so have been in business for a while now. Their WHOIS information is public but it leads to their postbox address in London, as is tradition with many companies. These servers are located in the Netherlands with Swiftway and I think they're with Cogent. Luckily the Netherlands are rather small, so regardless of where you are in there, your ping should be largely the same. We all know Dewlance from the time Kunnu was active on LowEndTalk. Though ridiculed by many, Dewlance seems to be doing business better than some of those that ridiculed them. In fact, they've been doing business for several years now, with the domain being six years old (WHOIS information is public). They've even registered Dewlance as a trademark. The hardware for this offer differs per location: in Orlando and Chicago it's on a machine with an Intel i7 950 CPU and at least four hard drives in hardware RAID10; in Buffalo it's on a machine with an E3-1230v2 CPU and also at least four hard drives in hardware RAID10. Reviews I was able to find were from 2013 and they weren't all positive, some of them complaining about downtime and slow support times. I'm looking forward to hear how Dewlance are doing now, so feel free to share your experiences with them in the comments.

Dewlance accepts PayPal (from Verified accounts only), Bitcoins, PerfectMoney, Skrill, Payza, NEFT Payment, OKPay, and EgoPay for payments. They have a 30-day refund policy, though they require a valid reason for requesting a refund, which probably means they give refunds on a case-by-case basis. For all the details on what is and what is not allowed, please read their Terms of Service before putting in an order.

Based on their WHOIS information, which is public, mosterVPS has been doing business since mid-2014. They are using OVH as a provider, so these servers are based in Gravelines, France and enjoy OVH's standard DDoS protection. I do not have any hardware information, unfortunately, but I do know the hard drives are configured in RAID5 (so there's a minimum of three). monsterVPS do not charge VAT in according with a certain German VAT Act, so with these new EU VAT rules it's a good thing for them to start with. monsterVPS also has the compulsory German Imprint on their website. I have not been able to find any reviews so I'm looking forward to hear your experiences with them.

PayPal is the only accepted payment method at this time. No refunds are given, as you have the option to use the Trial VPS for 24 hours. For all the details, please read their Terms of Service before ordering.

The offer

VMBox.co has a domain that's two and a half year old. They are a registered business in the UK since March 2014, so they're heading for their "official" one-year anniversary. This server comes with a free AlphaSSL Wildcard SSL certificate. If you get that SSL certificate within the first three days of service you forfeit your right to a refund. This is to prevent abuse of the free SSL certificates. I don't have many details on the host nodes, but I do know VMBox.co runs 8 hard drives in RAID10 backed up by an LSI 9271-8i RAID controller with Cachecade. I've seen quite some positive reviews on VMBox.co. If you are a current customer or give them a try as a result of this offer, please share your experiences with us in the comments!

Credit/debit cards and PayPal via 2Checkout are accepted payment methods. There's a no questions asked 3-day refund policy in place, though you're not entitled to a refund if you use the free Wildcard SSL certificate order. Additional IPv4 addresses are $2/month each; additional IPv6 addresses are free of charge. cPanel is available for $9.95/month. Before you order, please read their Terms of Service.

Hurry up, because the first five orders get double the transfer!

The offer

  • Intel Celeron J2900 Quad Core CPU (4x 2.41Ghz, up to 4x 2.66Ghz)
  • 4GB DDR3 RAM
  • 500GB SATA hard drive
  • 1TB transfer (2TB if you are one of the first five to order)
  • 100Mbps uplink
  • Dedicated server
  • €39/month ($46.54)
  • €1 Setup Fee ($1.19)
  • Order here

There's only 50 of these servers in stock, so if you want one, grab one! As noted before, the first five people to put in an order will get double the transfer for free. In order to get this, you need to select the additional 1TB of transfer during checkout. You will then need to wait for Internoc24 to waive the fee for the additional bandwidth. Send in a ticket to be sure. We know Internoc24 from their VPS offerings in exotic locations. They are a registered LLC. Reviews have been a bit mixed on the last offers, but some were written in a way that they sounded more like people not liking the offer than having been dissatisfied with their services. So, if you have been a customer of Internoc24 or currently are: we're looking to hear your opinion!

Internoc24 accepts payments via Paypal, Paysafecard, Bitcoins, EgoPay, Cashu, and Bank Wire. I'm unsure as to the setup time of these machines but I'm guessing it may take a couple of days. All sales are final and no refunds will be given. Please read their Terms Of Service prior to ordering.

TragicServers, despite the name, have been in business since 2012 when they started as a game server provider. They eventually grew into the VPS market and now have two locations to offer from. They're a legally registered entity in Binghamton, New York, USA and they're doing business as TragicServers (so that's not the legal entity's name). In Dallas these servers enjoy free basic DDoS protection, courtesy of the LimeStone network! Reviews are predominantly positive. If you try out TragicServers, please share your experiences with us in the comments.

PayPal is currently the only accepted payment method. There's a no refund policy in place, though if your specific case warrants it, it may be considered. As always, please read the Terms of Service before you order.

DedifyStack – Apache CloudStack Xen instances in Nuremberg starting at €3.60/month

DedifyStack – Apache CloudStack Xen instances in Nuremberg starting at €3.60/month

Tags: dedify.com, germany, nuremberg, xen, xenhvm, xenpv Date/Time: January 1, 2015 @ 12:00 am, by Maarten Kossen

Johannes, from fileMedia, has shared these offers with us from DedifyStack, which is the future of fileMedia. As a special promotion, you get 10% free additional credits when creating an account there.

CloudVM 512
  • 512MB RAM
  • 10GB SSD @ SAN
  • 1 vCPU @ 500Mhz
  • 2GB/h outgoing transfer
  • Free incoming transfer
  • 1Gbps uplink
  • 1x IPv4
  • 1x IPv6
  • Xen/CloudStack
  • €0.005/hr or €3.60/month
  • ~ $4.38/month
  • Create an account here
CloudVM 512 XL
  • 512MB RAM
  • 10GB SSD @ SAN
  • 1 vCPU @ 1000Mhz
  • 2GB/h outgoing transfer
  • Free incoming transfer
  • 1Gbps uplink
  • 1x IPv4
  • 1x IPv6
  • Xen/CloudStack
  • €0.008/hr or €5.76/month
  • ~ $7/month
  • Create an account here

The €/$ exchange rate is going up and down a bit, so the CloudVM 512 XL could end up a couple of cents over $7 depending on the exchange rate. At the time of writing it was $7.

DedifyStack is based on Apache CloudStack and XenServer, similar to what we've seen with iwStack (which is either KVM or Xen, depending on which zone you select). These offers are available in Germany and are located with Hetzner in Nuremberg, where fileMedia's hardware is colocated (no limited Hetzner dedi's here). fileMedia has a 'trade certificate' in Germany, which I think is some form of company registration. They do charge VAT, so I'm pretty sure it is. There's plenty of options available with DedifyStack, you can get Xen PV, HVM, or PVHVM, all depending on which template/iso you use. Additional optional features are a full private cloud with load balancer, isolated networks, firewall, vpc, template and iso management, and more. Needless to say, this is a very flexible option. The downside? The €30 initial deposit that's required to create an account. This fee was set to battle abuse and I can't blame them. It's a good thing, though, t! hat you can use all these credits plus €3 more (of course, when you deposit more, you get more free credits). If you give DedifyStack a try or are already a customer, please let us know how it went!

You can use PayPal or Stripe to add credit to your DedifyStack accounts. As far as I know, no refunds are given. For all the details, please read their Terms of Service before ordering.

Community Roundup – December 2014

Community Roundup – December 2014

Tags: community roundup Date/Time: January 2, 2015 @ 1:00 am, by Maarten Kossen

It's time for another community update! This time I'll cover December 2014 and highlight some notable events as well as some plans we have for the future.

Holidays

While they technically started in November, December is holiday month and we've had thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve. We've seen some nice offers during Thanksgiving as well as during Christmas and I hope you've all enjoyed them. Next year I'm looking to make the holiday season even more interesting, so feel free to send me any feedback for that.

Shared/Reseller hosting trial

Though it had a bit of a bumpy start and the rules were changed after a few days based on valuable community feedback, shared and reseller hosting offers are now allowed on LowEndTalk only if a provider also has an active VPS offering. In a couple of weeks time we'll be evaluating this and requesting your feedback to see where we'll go in the future.

New hosts featured on LowEndBox

The following new hosts were featured on LowEndBox:

  1. Berry.pw (though technically a subsidiary of Epidrive)
  2. Media-Hosts
  3. Mean Servers
  4. Viking Layer
  5. IndoVirtue
  6. HostSailor

That's a lot of new hosts in one month and I hope you guys all appreciate that!

Improvements in posts

We've started to slowly improve the offering on LowEndBox and the quality of posts. Almost every post is now written from scratch; this has been different for a while due to time constraints. Unfortunately, copy-pasting posts leads to bad quality posts and it doesn't do the site much good either.

We've also started feverishly denying repeat offers in the helpdesk. We've looking to feature different offers each and every time. Reasons to feature a host are: a new location, overhauled product lines, considerably hardware improvements, considerable plan changes, or special pricing/account credits. Minor changes to pricing or offerings are considered repeat offers as are repeated offers for free account credit. I really hope we can diversify LowEndBox more this way. As usual, any feedback is appreciated.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year

Tags: newyear2015 Date/Time: December 31, 2014 @ 1:00 am, by Maarten Kossen

As the end of the year is getting near I'd like to share a word of thanks once more, to you, one of the greatest communities out there.

2014 has been an interesting year to say the least. We've seen providers come and go, we've seen an increase of IPv4NAT+IPv6 offers at very low prices, but we've also seen a large number of beefy annual offers pop up. In addition to that, I've noticed a slight increase in non-US offers, which is very good for the diversity of the VPS market. Hopefully this trend will continue in 2015.

As the clock in London hits 00:00 and 2015 has officially started in the UTC timezone,  a new offer will go live which I hope you will all enjoy.

Again, thank you for everything in 2014 and I look forward to 2015!

All the best,

Maarten and the LEB and LET crew!

Johannes, from fileMedia, has shared these offers with us from DedifyStack, which is the future of fileMedia. As a special promotion, you get 10% free additional credits when creating an account there.

CloudVM 512 XL
  • 512MB RAM
